Story of Peace Casket
One of the oldest funeral services providers in Singapore, the history of Peace Casket dates back more than 80 years. Established in 1923 and known then as Wee Brothers, it was founded by the late Mr Wee Un Teck, and for a large part of its illustrious history, it was kept within the Wee family and was known to provide quality and personalised services to the bereaved families.
In 2001, Mr Peter Yan & his wife Ms Chow Hsun Cheng took over ownership and management and renamed the company Peace Casket. Catering to a modern Singapore with new mindsets and preferences, our heritage service became a more professional, customer-oriented and progressive care and service provider.

Yan Pei Tuck, Peter (LTCL, LGSM)- Executive Director
A qualified music conductor, Peter served as music director of the Singapore Navy Band from 1978 to 1992.
Having a heart of compassion to serve the bereaved & a deep passion to enhance the standard of the death-care services in Singapore, Peter Joined the funeral industry in 1994 & have since served many bereaved families with honour & cared for them in a loving, compassionate & dignified manner.
A founding member of the Association of Funeral Directors Singapore, a regulatory body for the funeral industry, Peter was instrumental in its formation & had served as its Vice-President from 2001 to 2005. He believes that much more could be done for the enhancement of the death-care industry in Singapore.
Peter continues to be active in the Christian music arena, having recently spearheaded the formation of the Hallelujah Chamber Orchestra & have having taught in churches & Bible College over the years. He also has a missional heart, having made numerous mission trips over Asia, including conducting music camps in the Philippines.
Chow Hsun Cheng (BSc Pharmacy) – Director
A qualified pharmacist still actively serving in her profession, Hsun Cheng is a non-executive director of Peace Casket & plays a supportive role to Peter in enhancing & providing premium services to the bereaved by constant & consistent upgrading of the facilities & services offered to the bereaved families, training & empowering the staff team, that they might give of their best to caring for the departed as well as the bereaved.
Hsun Cheng is active in the Christian music ministry, having sang & served in the choir of the Hallelujah Oratorio Society for over 35 years & serving its current president.
Hsun Cheng & Peter are members of Covenant Evangelical Free Church, where they have been worshipping & serving served for over 25 years.
